A place for everything... With room to spare!
I had just bought a Case Logic Security Friendly messenger bag when I found out I was being transferred to a different city... I will be riding my bike 10 miles a day to get from the train station to my new building, and a messenger bag just doesn't work well on a bicyle... I really liked the Case logic bag, it was infinitely better quality than the Toshiba bag it was replacing... So I was confident that the quality of this laptop bag would be very good. Now that I have the bag, I like it even more than I expected to. Very high quality, a multitude of storage spots, and very comfortable to wear... There are a ton of pockets and compartments, and I need that because I carry a lot of stuff with me.I have a Dell M6400 workstation laptop, which is pretty large and very heavy... It is nice and secure, and there is room to spare when stowing it in the laptop compartment. The little storage sleeve that was described as a spot to stow an iPad hold a couple of external USB drives and the cables. The largest compartment adjacent to the laptop compartment holds the giant power brick that the Dell has, and also a spare battery under a sleeve at the bottom of this compartment. The small zippered compartment at the top is the perfect size to hold my train pass and a wireless mouse. The next zippered compartment holds a lot of little neccessities, pens, pad of engineering comp paper, business cards, more cables and adapters, cell phone charger, etc. There are six small pockets to slip things into and keep them organized, and there is room to stow reference books like Berg catalogs and Spring catalogs when I am designing fixtures on the train. The outermost zippered compartment with the vertical zipper is where I pack my lunch every day, and folded up at the bottom I keep my rainsuit for when it's pouring rain and I have to ride 5 miles to work in the rain...The semi-hidden compartment on the other side is basically the pad to keep your back from getting poked... I keep a spare set of keys, a stash of emergency cash, and some other things that I use fairly infrequently... Spare batteries for the wireless mouse, etc. etc. Since the pad to protect your back from getting poked by something with a sharp corner is the outside of this compartment, you can stuff pretty much whatever you like in there and not feel it digging in to you at all...The zippers are all essentially the same, very durable and strong and look like they will last forever... The Toshiba bag I used to have had two of it's zippers break, and I never loaded that thing up much. These are much, much better quality and much beefier... The pulls are metal coated with rubber and I think they could support my weight without breaking, and I weigh 220 pounds...I have never used the two winged flaps at the outside, but you could stuff a pillow in there and cinch it down...There are also two smaller compartments at the lower sides that have mesh sleeves when they open up that are big enough to stuff water bottles or whatever into... They are not big enough to put a water bottle into and zip closed, but they could each hold a 16oz bottle... You could put a 12oz can into them and zip them closed...With all this stuff I carry around, the pack is very comfortable to wear. I don't use the cinch strap to hold the shoulder straps together when wearing the pack, it stays securely in place without it. When I walk with this backpack, I just slip it onto one shoulder; some packs will fall off or slide around when you try that. The shoulder straps are very comfortable, too... And the velcro added to the straps is another great little thing that makes this bag so much better; when you adjust the straps you just roll up the excess and secure it with the velcro... Small thing, but very telling when it comes to showing that somebody put some thought into this design...Case Logic makes really good products... I have a little camera bag by Case Logic, the messenger bag and now the Laptop backpack. All have proven to be really well thought out, very durable, and very well made. If I ever need to buy another bag of any type, I will just go see what Case Logic has and know that I will be very happy with it...

Sturdy bag fits lots of computer stuff and a giant sketchbook
Got this bag to replace my dying Sol backpack, I definitely think this one is a step up.PROS:- Nice and sturdy. I used and abused this bag throughout my senior year and it's help up quite well.- Lots of pockets. There are mesh internal pockets for holding small items, charging cords and the like, and one has lots of little slots for cards, pens, etc. The padded laptop compartment has an inner pocket for a tablet. Top pocket is lined with soft material so you could keep sunglasses or a phone in there without them getting scratched. One of the little side pockets has a plastic key clip in it (though I generally hook hair ties to that and keep my keys in the frontmost pocket.- Stash pocket with lots of padding on the back - good for rent check, passport, or other flat item you may wish to stash where it's hard to pickpocket.- Plenty of padding on the back - I've worn the bag for hours and been plenty comfy.- Side straps. Good for compressing down the bag when it's emptier, or for holding a rolled-up sweater. I often clipped my umbrella to the loop near the top zipper, then used the side strap to keep it from swinging around on the bus.CONS:- As many reviewers noted, while the sides of the laptop compartment are plenty padded, the bottom is a bit thin. Not so much I worry it'll tear through, but enough that I'm mindful about not dropping it onto a hard surface bottom-down while my computer's in there.- No good water bottle pocket. The side pockets unzip and have a mesh to fit a water bottle, but I have a taller water bottle that I always fear will slide out unless I use one of the side straps to hold it down. Would be nice if the mesh had an elastic or drawstring top to secure the bottle, but it's not too bad.WHAT IT WILL HOLD/USES I'VE PUT IT TO:- Computer bag: Holds my 15" macbook pro nicely, plus an iPad in the tablet pocket. Big compartment fits my power cord, external hard drives, and various accessories with room to spare. Alternately, I can stuff my macbook in its sleeve in the big compartment, and fit my portable scanner into the laptop compartment.- Art bag: The laptop compartment will accommodate my big 11x14 sketchbook, and all sorts of art books and supplies in the main compartment (I can still fit my tablet in its pocket alongside the sketchbook so I can pull up pictures for reference). A lot of my markers and brushes have their own cases, so I often strap these to the outside with the side straps, allowing me to stock everything I need for a day of painting in the woods or two different 3-hour-long studio classes.- Groceries: I took the bus to get groceries through much of college, so this was a godsend for carrying heavier food back. Reusable totes stay nice and flat in the laptop compartment until I need them. The big compartment can hold a 2-liter, a half gallon of milk, and several cans, or a 5-pound bag of potatoes and several other bits of produce, with the smaller pockets fitting my water bottle and wallet. As a bonus, my bus map fit perfectly into the tablet pocket.- Traveling: I can fit a weekend's clothes and toiletries into the bag easily, using the side straps to pack along rolled up towels, a pillow, or other light but bulky objects. The back pocket is good for tickets, passport, or other documents you want to keep safe.So overall a great bag with a few nitpicks, but I won't dock it any stars if only because it's survived so much use from me and still looks like new.

10 stars
I have been using it everyday for about 2 years now and it doesnt even have minor wear and tear. Price wise it is expensive but it's worth every single penny spent. Tons of space, comfortable, good looking, durable, quality construction, still looks like new after 2 years, what else do you need? Five stars to the manufacturer and Five stars to Amazon for making it available.

Durable
This bag is very useful and it can fit so much more than you'd think. I can easily fit in my large 15.6" y580 laptop and charger, a pair of converses, some clothes, a big pile of books(7-8 cm high) and a load of stationary without using the back pad compartment and with plenty of room to spare. The rolling up of the shoulder strap extra bits is genius and makes it look much nicer. My only gripe like some other reviews have said is the padding on the bottom of the laptop compartment, I sometimes forget about it and put my bag down to hear that heartbreaking thump as the laptop hits the table/floor.Case logic has some videos up on its website which gives you a pretty good idea of the look of the bag and some of its features. I've had this case for around 6 moths now and it looks as new with pretty much daily use. The stitching seems very good so I expect this bag to last me for a good few years. Overall a great product and I don't for a moment regret paying this much for a bag.
