If you read this like a fairytale then it’s okay
This is a sweet book and the reason I purchased it was the importance of a good father daughter relationship. This book idealizes it such as “He never gets angry” “He will always protect me and not let anything hurt me” “He is never too tired too play with me after work” “He reads me a story every night at bedtime”. There may be Dads who do read every night, but the rest is too hard for a Daddy to live up to. If the author took out the never and always, I would keep it to give to my son, a great Daddy to 2 precious girls.

#1 DAD
An adorable book for little girls and their superhero dads. I read Gordon's book about superhero Mommy, but I like this one even more. The illustrations in this one are large and expressive, the rhymes flow smoothly. Molly loves her dad for so many reasons. He never seems to be in a bad mood and lifts up her spirits when she is sad. Dad always has time for her no matter how tired. He shoos away her fears and keeps her safe. Molly knows that he will protect her and keep her from harm. Dad puts her interests first even if that makes him look silly. This book would make an excellent Father's Day gift. The perfect bedtime story for preschool lassies who adore their superhero dads.

Disappointing on a number of levels
I bought this book for my toddler to give Daddy for Christmas. She's a total daddy's girl and I thought it would be perfect after reading reviews. At $13, I thought it was kinda expensive for a paperback book, but if it was just right, it would be worth it. I got the book last night, read it once, and promptly started the return process. First, the girl in the book has a name, so children can't "put themselves into the story". The story would have read better if it had just called her "Little girl" or "she". As it is, it reads as though MOLLY's daddy is so great, and therefore "my" daddy isn't the same as Molly's daddy. Second, the book is very flimsy, not a quality book that I expected for the price. And thirdly, the thing that made up my mind to return the book, is that the final SIX PAGES of the book aren't related to the story at all - they're basically advertising the author and the other books he's written. My daughter insists on all pages of a book being read, and no way do I want to read this extra content every time. The whole book feels very self-published and cheap. If this had been a $4 book I might have kept it and cut out those last few pages, but for $13 - hard nope. Going back today.

Great Story
This adorable story will draw children in especially little girls who are daddy's little girl. It is well written, captures the attention of children with pictures that are eye catching and sparks conversation for discussion about the book which can be teachable moments.

I loved this book showing the loving relationship between a father and daughter. The rhyming story is well-written and the illustrations are absolutely adorable! Each scene makes you smile warms your heart. A must have for daughters and dads would definitely love reading it to their daughters as a bedtime story.

A lovely book about a young girl's many reasons why she loves her dad
Michael Gordon's "Daddy's Little Girl” is, as are his many other children's books, a delight. The poetic narrative and colorful drawings are great. Kids will like it a lot. Molly loves her dad. She knows he is her hero and best friend. She knows he will always take care of her well. As she says: "I'm lucky to have you, Dad, I love you, you're swell."

Not for me, but can see how others would like
Have to be honest and say I am not a big fan of this book, I don’t feel it has moved as far along in terms of supporting females to do things for themselves as I personally would like - but I’m sure for most there won’t be an issue.

Delightful for a gift to a new Daddy with a daughter.
A cute Daddy/daughter story where Daddy is rather wonderful, unfortunately not all Daddies are like the Daddy in this story, but what a wonderful gift to little girls who have a Daddy like this one. I did and it was a wonderful experience growing up knowing how much he loved me.Before reading this story to little girls, I would recommend parents read it themselves first, e.g. it would not be suitable for a little girl who doesn't have a Daddy or for a little girl who doesn't have a caring Daddy.

Perfect Daddy and Daughter book
Although the little girl's name is Molly, we just replace the name with our daughters name when we read it to her. It has become my husbands favourite book to read to our daughter
