Amazing!!!
I was looking for a nice book to read to my 2/3 year old and my 5 year old about Diwali and this is brilliant, gives enough information and story behind the occasion to make it engaging for them at their age. My 2/3 year old make me read it nearly everyday. They love it! Beautifully illustrated as well!!

A great re-telling of the Rama-Sita story and it's relevance to Diwali!
Love this! It reads like a proper story rather than a book trying to teach children about Diwali. It has just the right amount of text on each page and great pictures to keep kids interested. I was worried it would be a bit long but it's absolutely fine for my 3yo

Poor. There are better books for the same price.
Even though it’s written in simplistic form for a child the story is not quite right. Having bought a lot of Diwali books for my child, I would strongly discourage this book in favour of, The Jais Jais Diwali book which is a much better and accurate child’s book of the Ramayana.

Laden with Inaccuracies
I can understand that this book was created with children as the audience. It has good graphics and simple style of writing is good and thus it received 3 stars. There are instances where inaccurate information is provided which are hard to answer to kids.Inaccuracies:Book: Ravana takes away Sita on a magical flying chariot, FACT: a magical flying plane named "Pushpak" was used to kidnap Sita. I am not trying to state that airplane was invented in India, but it is clearly mentioned in the book that a Vimaan named Pushpak was used. It was magical during that times and I am okay calling it magical now as well.Book: Hanuman is portrayed as a king but he was not a king, FACT: he is a monkey God who is subservient to Ram..Book: Ram and Sita walked back from Lanka to Ayodhya and thus the lamps were lit so they can find their way back. FACT: They flew back in a magical plane named "Pushpak" and there were more people on it, Ram, Laxman, Sita, Hanuman, Jambvant, Sugriva and many more. The lamps were lit all over India so that they can see where they were headed. What is the problem with telling the truth as is? Just call spade a spade. Looks like they have reservations calling Ram, Sita and Hanuman as Gods or Goddesses. This is not a fable or mythology. It is part of Ramayana, a book which one billion hindus hold near and dear to their hearts.Being a Hindu myself and have told the story multiple times without this book, I found it very hard to explain to my kids with this book that Hanuman is monkey God and not a king who was subservient to Ram.Conclusion: This book is laden with inaccuracies, it has good graphics and easier to read and provides some insight in to why it is called Diwali.

Love this book!
My four year old twins LOVE this book! They loved learning about Ravan and how he was defeated. This book single handedly made Diwali something to celebrate and look forward to every year. They asked every day to read this book (multiple times a day). They would be angry at Ravan and tried to huge Sita. Love this book so much that I now buy it as a gift for all my friend’s kids. Love it!!

Unprofessional finished product
The story line is okay for kids.aiming more for a 2 to a 3 year old.Received my book today but appalled by the print quality done in a shody print place. The cover pages looks like it's a picture that's been stretched to fit the size of the book. The rest of the pages the print looks.like it's faded and the picture quality once again stretched to fit the pages. For the price you pay and what to get ... least impressed.
