DII Basic Everyday Ribbed Tabletop 100% Cotton, Placemat Set, 13x19, Dark Green, 6 Piece

Nice placemats but even following care instructions by washing in cold water and lying flat to dry they shrank quite a bit. I had similar ones before which were also 100% cotton so I expected that. The stonewash blue color is very nice and the price is reasonable for a set of six. Not sure how they will holdup yet but based on how well my other ones lasted - I've had them for almost ten years - I think they'll be good.

We've had this style placemats since we were married 30+ years ago, and they are just too faded now. These are exactly like the ones we bought before - and we love the bright colors!

These table mats work well for the purpose I purchased them. They are of a sufficient thickness to protect the table and prevent most spills from going through. The color is attractive for what I wanted - sitting on a dark table and providing a solid background for my multi-colored dinnerware. Washing and drying them is a challenge as I don't own an iron. So when they are just close to dry, I take them out of the dryer, stretch and smooth them out by hand and put them on a flat surface. Then I put a weight on top of them.So far, so good.

I was hoping the color would be more muted than the 1st photo and it is. Dusky blue teal not a green teal. The ribbed 100% cotton material makes these well suited for a casual setting. My favorite mat was a different teal one in a linen/cotton smooth pressed look material. But, since I will be hand washing these and drip dry drying in an RV, I decided that one would be too hard to make look nice without an iron. I washed these according to directions and they did great through the machine wash and drip dry. I did smooth them and gently pull on all the sides while wet to offset any tendency to shrink. No problems. A couple did try to have a little curled corner, but that resolved easily by hand manipulation before completely dry. I only dried 1 completely flat. The others were hung over a rod. I flipped them over 1/2 way through drying so there was no big rod mark in the middle. I tested this since they will likely not be flat dried in the trailer. I hoped the ribbed texture would camouflage any minor wrinkles and they did!! This mat is pretty thick and doesn’t look like you forgot to iron it.

I really like these place mats and the color. They go so well with our "summer" tablecloth and sage green or red napkins. HOWEVER -- my kid dried some things in the dryer on the highest heat, and I failed to see it. If I ever use the dryer, I put it on the lowest setting, or air only. I dried one of the place mats with some napkins, and that the place mat is now 2.5 inches smaller than its original size, on each or its four sides. It's okay for, say, a coffee mug, teacup and saucer or a small bowl, but it's now a bit too small for a salad plate and way too small for a dinner plate or pasta dish. So... yes, buy this place mate, but don't dry it on high heat!

UPDATE 2021: We've been using these for over 2 years now. We bought another set in black, and have been switching them out whenever the others are in the wash. They do stop bleeding In the washer eventually, so we just throw them in with the everyday laundry. They have not started unraveling or falling apart at all. Which is amazing since we are not easy on these whatsoever. They've gone from just being place mats to being used for anything and everything; under dog food and water, under the coffee pot, used to set hot pans on, for wet dishes as a drying mat, under coloring books for painting, you name it and They've been used for it. The colors have faded, but I expected nothing less from constant abuse over the years. All in all these are great and last forever.ORIGINAL 2019: We absolutely love these. We're a family of 6 with 4 messy kids, and we use these every day for every meal. They are very sturdy. Nice and thick, not flimsy at all. They get washed every couple of days, and so far no unraveling. They did shrink a little after the initial wash, but they're 100% cotton. Cotton will ALWAYS shrink in the wash. There's nothing you can do about that. And anyone that gets mad about it is just ignorant, and should buy polyester place mats instead because polyester does not shrink. I put these in the washer with cold water, and lay them flat on the table to dry so I dont have to iron them. But even in cold water, do not wash these with anything else, unless you dont mind the color bleed to the rest of your laundry. They bleed like crazy. Another thing, is these placemats may not be strictly for special occasions or parties if thats what you're buying them for, they are not perfectly rectangle. Some are better than others, some look like they were made at a bit of an angle. For my family, we think it adds a bit of character, and don't mind it at all. In fact we're saving up for another set in a different color for some variety during holidays, but if you're picky about presentation, they may not be for you.

These placemats are just OK. Two of them were unusable as placemats as they had black ink smeared in the middle of them. It looked like the ink originated on one of the two and it stained the second that was packaged right next to it. I needed at least four placemats so I chose not to return the whole order. I'm currently using the two ink-stained placemats as a skirt for my small Christmas tree. You really can't see the stains down there on the floor.I've had lots of this style of placemat in the past and these are just not as sturdy as the others. But they're placemats and do provide a cover for the table.

I'm alittle upset that I got black when I ordered blackberry. I needed a red color to match my setup. I do like the black so undecided what to do :(

I ordered two packs of these placemats The first pack was absolutely fine, however the second pack of six has three damaged placemats. Two are stained and the third is frayed around the edges. Very disappointing.

Used them at Christmas and they were just what I was looking for. They’re a lovely olive colour and quite large and thick. Really good quality material that looks the same after going through the washing machine. Would defiantly buy again if we needed more

Really happy with the Tango Red. Color is vibrant and beautiful.Nice thickness to them as well.Years ago I bought some at Sears but with fringes. I loved them and got a lot of use out of them.But now with Sears Canada being closed I decided to buy these. Really happy I did.13½ x 20 according to what I received.I haven't washed them yet but I will be washing them in cold water and hanging dry simply to minimize shrinking.Once I wash them I will measure them again and let you know :)Aug 19th 2021Had them for a year now and washed them several times. Never put them in the dryer.Just messured them and they are now 13 x 19. Only shrunk a bit in width.I have never put mine in the dryer. I always air dry. When I take them out of the washing machine I stretch them out by pulling on the ends before laying them out flat to dry or hanging them up.Hope this helps.

Like many others have said, the material has creases that cannot even be washed or ironed out, as if there was a fabric manufacturing flaw in the role of fabric but they use it anyways to make this product, and the corners curl unmanageably. I threw two out that weren't even considerable for donating, and I'm donating four that have very curly corners. These were made from very poor quality fabric that is woven in a way that causes these problems. Also right out of the box they were unattractive, not like my other ribbed placemats, the ribs are very large and coarse, not the product I was expecting.
