Sturdy, Responsive, and Useful

I’ve used this pad for over a week now and it has been great! It’s a sturdy reliable keypad that takes getting used to, like many new efficiency tools, but has helped quite a bit. I enjoy the satisfying mechanical keys and switches. I bought the yellow one with black keys and knobs and it has been helpful to get me away from my previous Clip Studio Tabmate, which relied on constant use of the thumb, often giving me cramps or fatigue. The key mapping was intuitive, granted I have previous experience with mapping a similar tool. As long as you stick with it and test it a bit, it’s perfect. I like how responsive this keypad. I’m actually glad that I got the wired version because it means that the keypad is always ready for use and I don’t have to keep turning it on and waiting a few seconds before using it. The smallest obstacles can tend to put me off my motivation to work, but this helps. The knobs are smooth with the smallest clicking resistance that you feel but do not hear, assisting the pleasing tactile experience. I don’t often write reviews unless I’m very displeased or really excited about something. The price point was just right on this too!

AWESOME!

This keypad is absolutely amazing. The build quality is phenomenal and very premium feeling. The top is a powder coated metal, and the bottom I believe is a milled slab of acrylic. The knobs are perfect, the keycaps are great too. Has a small LED display showing which layer you are on/activated. Fully customizable with VIA right out of the box. Plugged it in and went to the VIA site and it just worked. The only thing I wish it had was some sort of foot to put it at an incline. I'll probably end up 3D printing something, but it's not a deal breaker at all. I would love a 75% keyboard of the same quality/style.

Great For Almost Anything

I was initially worried about the binding software because I had heard there were some issues in the past but I couldn't have been more wrong. The thing works great with Via and Vial for changing key-bindings (via is easy to use and web based, Vial is local but more powerful). The keys feel nice, the knobs are very satisfying, and it is very attractive on my desk. I do wish it had come with a tenting kit or stand out of the box, but I 3d printed one and now its perfect.

No Directions, no online help

The product appears to be well constructed and if I could get it to work, likely would have rated it higher. The item came with no instructions. It’s not plug and play. I did download the software apparently needed to get it to run, but it would not function. I went online and waited on their chat box for over ½ hour. They said they would be available in “minutes.” Their help section states that the manual is “included in the box” and not available for download, but there was no operators manual in the box. Without available online help and no way to obtain directions, the item was returned.

Great build quality, Setup is some of the worst I've seen anywhere

Edit: two days later after dissembling the product, per their item directions, resetting, updating the firmware, and then rerunning Via this is running well. It's tactile and heavy. Do not buy if you're not a tinkerer who already has very small hex screwdrivers. Via was pretty easy to get running. Macros weren't too bad to set up. The knobs were the hardest part because you have to know the key codes but you can find that easily enough. I'm happy I got it, but less happy about having to disassemble to get it running.Original: Setup was a nightmare. I'm still not done. I can't get it to switch layers. I believe the keymap is shifted by 2, so layer 1 (actually Layer 0, but that's not how it's listed on the pad) on the pad is layer 3, but I have absolutely no idea what layer 0 and 1 map to because once I toggled the swap none of the keys are doing what I've programmed them to do.I'm going to reset it to factory and see if I can dig out the issue issue with it being shifted. Which means I have to take the back off (per the instructions on the Keebmonkey website).2 stars gained for absolutely amazing build quality, feel, and the freaking awesome tactile knobs. Seriously. It is heavy enough that it won't go sliding around the desk. If I can get it to function with the layers in the right place I'll come back and update depending on how hard it is.

No software required, remembers settings from machine to machine.

I work as a CAD drafter for a telecom engineering company and I wanted something where I could have commands at a single button press. This does exactly that. It's fairly comfortable, though is an absolute brick weight-wise. That's not a bad thing, I'm pretty sure this would damage my floor before itself if I drop it. The four layers are great essentially providing 64 different buttons. On Macros: I saw a review on here saying you can only do three button presses, this is absolutely not true, I was able to setup an entire sentence and still had plenty of room. It has 778 bytes (or 778 keyboard characters) of space for recording a macro. You can have up to 16 recorded Macros. It also has options for "extended" keyboards, giving 12 extra Function keys.Setup was a breeze, it's plug-and-play across devices once programmed, and you can save json files for easy loading of settings. You could either use the different layers for different apps, or have ALL of the commands at your fingertips. It comes with a really long braided cord. All in all this was perfect for my purposes and I highly recommend it.

VERY solid and well built! Software take some time to learn robustly.

I've bought several different "Micro keyboards" for a project. This one is head and shoulders above the others when it comes to build quality! My only VERY VERY MINOR complaint is that the software needs a better list of commands you can program in. The basic stuff (make a button press an A or a) is easy enough, but learning the codes like s(KX_ZZZ) without a logical list is a pain

Feels nice and heavy but the knobs are flimsy.

When I opened the box and felt the heft of this device, I was impressed at the feeling of a solid build. Unfortunately, all three knobs wobble significantly, and it sometimes stops working when using a USB switch to move between computers. I have other keypads that work fine with the same switch.
