Llewellyn's Little Book of Halloween (Llewellyn's Little Books, 6) Hardcover – September 8, 2018

Great info on Halloween history, crafts and ideas.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Llewellyn’s Little Book of Halloween by Mickie Mueller, but decided to check it out to get into the holiday spirit. Something I particularly enjoyed was the focus on Halloween itself in its modern form and how Mickie incorporates that back into a witch’s Samhain practice. She invokes the fun of our modern secularized Halloween that we grew up with back into the sacred period of the Pagan Samhain, including the spooky and sometimes scary aspects of the celebration that are sometimes swept under the rug in modern Samhain practices. She writes that “Witches know that fully experiencing our emotions can give us power and increase our magic. In this way, fear can be a powerful tool.”The book opens by going over the history and evolution of Halloween and I learned a few things about it myself that I didn’t know. There are over 33 exercises and 11 tips throughout the pages. While the book covers things you’d expect to see in a book written about Samhain from a witch such as spells and divination practices, folklore and customs, it also includes a lot of clever celebration, decoration ideas, and recipes. The divination practices range from tea leaf readings to ouija boards to hosting seances. Mickie has an entertaining writing style and I found the book an endearing quick read which definitely got me into the Halloween/Samhain spirit.

This makes a cute little coffee table book for Halloween.

I love tiny books like this. Very well made, gorgeous page decor throughout. It goes through everything from funny little modern games/foods for kiddos through historic information, older rituals/games/foods and some spells, etc. It's just a little bit of everything. Fun for an old timer, good info for a newbie.

I pre-ordered this at the beginning of the year. It did not disappoint. I love the history, spells, and recipes. Halloween is a huge deal to me and I thought I knew everything about the history, but I learned new things. I'm looking forward to trying out the recipes and spells too. She did a really great job on the book. I love this series by Llewellyn and Mickie's is the best one yet!! If you love Halloween or the little book series by Llewellyn, it's a must!!

I have many books on Halloween and I'm so happy to add this one to my collection. I love how easy it is to flip through and read up on the various traditions of the day, find a craft, or a recipe I might want to make. I have been enjoying sharing this with the kids. I've been looking for more pagan books that give me ideas to celebrate with the whole family and this is definitely one of them! I can't wait to try out all the yummy recipes and super fun crafts. I will definitely be pulling this book out every year to help me get into the spirit of the season!

It is a cute little book about having a Halloween for the standard stay at home soccer mom. Nothing really creepy/informative in here if you have a Pintrest page or two already.

I saw this girl on tiktok talk about this book & I had to come buy it to set out on my coffee table for Halloween! So adorable and the price is great! Makes a great Halloween decoration!

I can’t really say enough good things about this book. It starts with a history of Halloween from its early roots as a harvest festival to what it is today. How it evolved with the times into something acceptable to the Catholic Church while still holding onto old traditions like wearing costumes and communicating with spirits of our dearly departed. Filled with fun facts about iconic Halloween symbols and activities both old and recent, if you enjoy the holiday more than the average person you will fall in love with this handy little book. I bought two more for family members because were those kind of people. 👻❤️

Loved it, for such a little book it has a lot in it, from history and facts to ideas, cooking, party planning ideas, it feels like an essential for October, one I'll get out every year.

Normalmente non amo alla follia i prodotti Llewelyn (per vari motivi che non sto a descrivere qui), ma devo ammettere che ogni tanto un buon prodotto esce fuori.Nonostante sia un libricino con poche pretese, alcuni aspetti mi hanno colpita: parecchie info storiche, altre tradizionali americane che noi - ovviamente - non possiamo sapere, le esperienze di prima mano dell'autrice, molte usanze antiche ancora vive in Gran Bretagna o negli Usa e molti spunti su cui riflettere.Insomma, a parte alcuni capitoli con idee già viste e ricette che un italiano non metterebbe mai in tavola, non è poi così male.

Such a cute little Halloween book to read during October. It has so much info and teaches you a lot about the holiday and those surrounding it. It’s really fun to read and has lots of tips and trick and recipes in it. A Halloween must.
