Safavieh Montauk Collection MTK716A Handmade Cotton Area Rug, 9' x 12', Ivory / Grey

I love this rug! We needed a bit of 'modern' rug to balance more traditional items in the room, but wanted something soft and comfortable. Due to the light shades of tan and white, I was a bit apprehensive prior to using it, worrying about stains, spills... especially considering the low price . The very first week, red wine was spilled directly on the rug. I was convinced it was ruined. With a small amount of water and soap,and thirty seconds of dabbing - there is absolutely no spot or discoloration on the rug.

I ordered this rug in two colors- beige and light blue. Both are significantly darker than expected and patterns are different. I kept the blue. I have had it a month and I like it. It doesn’t hold dirt like my prior wool rug, does not shed, and I’ve been able to clean both blood and coffee out of it! I have a rug pad under it and it still wrinkles someWith traffic but it’s easy to smooth down.

The pattern is more obvious than the picture indicated. I was looking for a softer, fainter, more neutral rug. The geometric pattern is more prominent than I thought, and doesn’t look quite right in my space. Also, more like a fabric floor covering than a true rug.

This rug looks so attractive online, but it’s a mess in reality. It constantly stretches out and since it’s woven it is not durable at all and it ends up with loose threads coming out all over the place. I’m extremely displeased with this product.

When it came out of the package it stunk like wet dog. I cleaned it using the delicate cycle on my washer laid it flat to dry. I noticed that it was already coming apart with just one washing and the smell still lingers. It also pilled badly. The weave is very loose and the cotton yarn itself is poor quality (looks rough spun with only 3 ply and not much twist). I doubt it will be durable and wouldn’t recommend using it in a high traffic area. I have bought other Safavieh rugs that were good quality. This one is a huge disappointment.

Very light, kind of difficult to keep in place. Color is darker than pictured, closer to taupe I would say. The picture shows a sturdier rug, tightly woven, but the one I received is looser; I can only hope that it will look fine in a few weeks after I will vacuum it a couple of times... Overall it looks ok, but it is softer and most likely less resistent to ware and tare than I expected it to be. I just received it, and I have not yet made up my mind if I will keep it or return it.

Love this runner which I am using in the kitchen. Seems to be well woven. Recommend you use with a pad or else it will slide on hardwood floors. Purchased because other reviewers statedIt can be machine washed.

I love it.! It is the perfect size or at least what I was looking for. We have an ugly stain we were trying to cover and this was perfect. The texture is great. I love having my bare feet on it. The quality is great. And the price was great too. We were looking for something nice but inexpensive so this rug was perfect. I love the colors and pattern. Very satisfied with my purchase.
