Best Wood Filler Ever.

Abatron wood filler is a 2 part mix that has the consistency of clay so it does not run, and has a 30 min working time so rushing to finish is not required. Occasionally find a spot of wood rot on my house; just scrape or pick away the soggy wood, let it dry, paint the exposed wood with a wood harder which does exactly that. Then replace the removed wood with the Abatron wood putty. Can be smoothed with a putty knife and Isopropyl Alcohol to avoid any resistance. And also for cleanup. Wait 24 hours, scuff a little with sandpaper, and paint. Will look Great, and saves a ton of money and time. Before Abatron, I used a product typically used for repairing dents in cars which rhymes with Mondo. This product worked pretty well, but sets up pretty fast so found myself making several small batches to work with before hardening; so is more messy, and added more time to complete repairs. Abatron Wood Filler is the GOAT for me at this point.

Absolutely the best for all wood repairs.

Abatron LiquidWood and WoodEpox are the gold standard for wood repair. I have used these products for many years and the quality and convenience justifies the premium price. The key to repairs is using the LiquidWood as an adhesive base for the WoodEpox for large repairs. Cure time is temperature dependent. The curing process can be accelerated with a heating gun. I typically get set times in less than two hours and final curing in a few days. Drilling, sanding, and painting properties are excellent. Cleans up easily with isopropyl alcohol or acetone. Worth every penny!!

An excellent wood replacement compound!

Several years ago, I looked for a reliable wood replacement compound for various DIY projects. My main requirements were durability and resistance to cracking, as previous products I had used did not meet my expectations. After reading about this product in a news article, I decided to try it. Most lumber yards didn't carry it, but I eventually found one that did. Unfortunately, they only sold it in large canisters, which were quite expensive. Fortunately, the compound has proven to be an excellent choice. I have used it extensively for both indoor and outdoor DIY projects, and it has consistently delivered satisfactory results without any failures. After many years of use, I emptied the containers. I was pleased that the two containers I ordered from Amazon were smaller and more affordable. To prevent the expensive ingredients in the containers from drying out, remember that air is your enemy. Here are a few recommendations:1. Take what you need from each container and IMMEDIATELY place the lids back on the two containers.2. I always try to burp out as much air as I can before a final seal of the lid.3. Ensure that the lids are tightly in place. I gently thump them with my rubber mallet. With a minimal amount of effort, you can significantly increase the shelf life of this product.Remember that this wood epoxy requires mixing equal amounts of resin from one container and hardener from another. It’s easy to accidentally take too much, which could result in discarded material and wasted money.Follow the manufacturer's safety and usage directions carefully. The two compounds must be kneaded thoroughly. After it hardens, I gently sand and paint over it.

This seems to work in my application in pressure treated wood.

I was rebuilding a deck and wanted to fill a large void in a pressure treated 4x4 post that was used in its construction. I did some online research and decided to try WoodEpox. When I received the 2 quart kit I was initially shocked at how light weight it was and was having serious doubts about it filling and reinforcing the quart sized void in the wood and having any structural integrity.Mixing:I determined the amount of hardener and epoxy to use by using a scale and weighing the material. When mixing I initially tried to put it in a gallon zip lock bag and massage it into an even consistency but in the end used my hands with rubber gloves to complete the mixing process.Application:The area to be filled was treated with cut solution for rot prevention about 2 weeks prior to the epoxy application. The void was bounded by white wood on 2 sides to prevent the epoxy from falling out and when full another piece of wood was used to cover the 3rd side of the void. In filling the void I was careful to make sure it was forced into the corners to completely fill those hard to fill areas. When I was applying the epoxy it acted like it didn't want to adhere to the wood, another concern. I let it setup for 3 days in 80 degree heat.Overall impression:Upon trying to remove the white wood, it wouldn't come off, the epoxy adhered so well, I really had to work at prying off the wood and it left bits of wood in the epoxy that I had to had hand plane down (you can still see some in the photo). I would recommend using some plastic between the wood and epoxy to allow an easy release of any material it may touch. And in the end it seemed to also adhere to the pressure treated wood well too. I also had some extra epoxy and created a 2x2 cube of the material and let it cure. I tried drilling and putting a screw into it and it seemed very structural especially considering the weight of the material.Overall I am pleased with this product and would use it again, I gave it 4 stars because it is kind of expensive.
