The magnet works great. It is a strong magnet so it stays were you place it. The dirty/clean rotates around easily and due to a catch on the back also stays in place. You can open and close the dishwasher door without movement. The stainless steel is attractive and very durable. The text is well designed and does not fadedor wear off. Just be careful with waster getting behind the magnet. Moisture between the dishwasher and magnet will cause surface rust. It was not a probables until someone cleaned the dishwasher without removing the magnet. I would also be careful with pulling the magnet across the surface on the dishwasher. It may cause a scratch if there is any dirt between the dishwasher and magnet.

The photo doesn't do a good justice to this wonderful magnet. It's dark steel, very subtle looking magnet, which looks like a part of the d/w. We have 2 Miele dishwashers next to each other, and you just need to know they have these magnets attached to them. In our newly remodeled ultra-modern kitchen the last thing we wanted was some cheap looking magnets. In addition to that wonderful look, they are also very strong. Once attached, they stay put and the only part you need to rotate is the outer disk with "clean/dirty" sign - hence, no scratching d/w!They are not noticeable until needed, but once you need them, it's very easy to see the sign. Our 6-yr old understands them perfectly. Also, for the past 6 months, I only wiped them once - very nice!Overall, we very happy with this purchase. It's one of those few cases, when you spend a little, but enjoy a lot!And... our sink is always empty, thanks to the magnets! No more excuses: one of the d/w is always collecting dirty dishes!

This is my favorite magnet for use on your dishwasher or refrigerator. The words are not too large but they are easy to read. The line and squiggle beneath clean and dirty give it a playful effect. It looks sleek and its easy to keep it that way. The material used to make it, is durable and heavy. The magnet is flat, but it is slightly raised underneath in order to lift and turn with ease. It's created to be stuck to the dishwasher while you turn the magnet to it's desired label. The ONLY downside to my magnet is that the center screw was too tight so I am unable to turn it while it's still on the dishwasher (or it will scratch the surface of my dishwasher due to the magnet being so strong!).But it is the best dishwasher magnet, nonetheless because it has the "lip" to lift it. -- And that makes my life much easier. I highly recommend this magnet over any other.

This little magnet is exactly what I was looking for! It fits right in with our white/stainless steel kitchen and doesn't look cheap or cheesy. Person who starts the dishwasher turns the magnet to "Clean", and the person who unloads turns it to "Dirty". No more frustrating "Are these clean or dirty?!" moments! Haven't had any problems with it being turned by mistake, but it turns fairly easily and I could imagine that happening with kids, dogs, or more people in the house (we're a household of two). Great little magnet.

This item is unique and very useful to have in a home/apartment with multiple people. It definitely helps everyone to keep straight whether the dishes in the dishwasher are clean and can be taken out or are dirty and to keep filling it up! The magnet holds it in place on the dishwasher very well. The problem is in the turning mechanism. There's a little 'stopper' on the front piece (a little extension) that is meant to slide along a grove in the back piece, which is supposed to stop it when you turn it 180 degrees to flip from 'clean' to 'dirty' or vice versa. However, the two pieces of this device do not fit snuggly enough together, so the little extension/stopper often doesn't stay in the groove.. So the stopper doesn't do anything but get stuck where it's not supposed to be as you continue to turn it around. The manufacturers should've assured the front and back pieces were assembled more tightly so this wouldn't happen, but it just means we have to be weary when we 'flip' it around.

After reading the reviews, I worried if this magnet would be strong enough for my dishwasher since the cover of my dishwasher is plastic, but my fridge magnets would stick on my dishwasher, so I ordered to give it a try. I worried even more when this arrived and I felt how heavy it was. This is NICE heavy quality metal for the money.I am happy to say that I worried for nothing. The magnetism on this is plenty strong enough to hold it in place and doesn't even come close to feeling like it will fall off. To anyone worried if it will stick to your dishwasher, just try your fridge magnets on your dishwasher to see if they will stick before you order this. If your fridge magnets won't stick, then this won't either. If you have high-grade stainless, this probably won't work, but honestly, if it hadn't stuck to my dishwasher, I would have simply super-glued it on. My dishwasher is about 8 years old and this magnet is the nicest "feature" on the dishwasher. It stepped up in class just to have this affixed to it.Now, no more asking if these dishes are clean or dirty and it's big enough, anyone can clearly read it. I wondered how it wouldn't rotate out of position, but I looked at the back and there is a little "track" carved out of the magnet for this turn clockwise and counter-clockwise to change from clean to dirty and vice versa. It will not simply spin all the way around. They could be asking $20 for this and it would be worth it in my book. Very happy customer and this thing will probably last a lifetime.

Second one I purchased. The first one was on my dishwasher for so long that when it came time to move it was adhered on there. New homeowners inherited it. Years later I found the exact same one for my new home. No problems with this one getting stuck, but do have an issue getting it to stay on now that I have a toddler that likes to play with it. Simple design, awesome product.

Good product, does as claimed. $12.99 is too much for the quality though
