I love Jane Townsick. She is an amazing quilt teacher. I've been lucky enough to beable to go to the Applique Academy and experience her class. Before that I had twoof her books. She has truly distilled the essence of her classes into book form.Even if you are a beginner and you take it slow - you can do it. It's essential to readthe book a couple of times before even choosing fabric. But once you get to thatpoint, you can truly create magic with your fabric, needle, thread and the assistanceof Jane's wonderful book. If you are close to Oley, PA I think that she teaches yearround there too. It's worth the trip to go to Ladyfingers Fabric store and spend oneday with her expertise if you can't make it to the Applique Academy.Yummy photos and clear explanations along with examples of her students work make this book a definite buy for any quilters library. It is truly inspiring.

Beautiful designs with what appears to be clear directions. Haven’t yet tried the appliqué but am eager to try some of them. It may not be best for someone who hasn’t done appliqué before. The quilt examples are gorgeous.

Beautiful applique designs! I've had to modify the methods, as I am not sewing by hand, but so far they're coming out beautifully. The quilt designs featured in this book are just lovely, and I'm really enjoying making the beautiful, shimmering creatures!

I could never make my pointy points look good until I learned the secrets in this book. It can help anyone improve and expand their skills. Recommend!

I love the patterns in this book, so easy to use, although I do not tear out the pages I scan and print out a copy to use. I cannot tear up this beautiful book.

The instructions are fine, the photos and illustrations are fine, but the patterns do not live up to the cover photo. The rest of the patterns are muddy and not at all colorful and attractive as one would expect a book of flying creatures to be.

This book contains incredibly detailed instructions and pictures of how to create each block. Very detailed list of fabrics and supplies. It covers the basics all the way up to master level work, in a clear detailed format that anyone can follow. Just exceptional.

Zeer mooi boek met interessante beschrijvingen voor de applicatie methodes.

Very nice book, gives instruction on how to hand applique (which I'll be doing by machine). There are 12 lovely patterns and about 20 quilts for you to get inspiration from. If you like birds, moths and butterflies this will be a great pattern book for you.

Very attractive book with good instructions. I haven't started my project yet but feel it will definitely help when that time comes. That is the only reason I do not give it five stars.
