I used this product to make pizzelles. These are cookies I was brought up on and they turned out great. It is so helpful to read that this anise oil is suitable for baking So many are not.

I have been using their Anise oil for awhile and love the flavor it gives to my recipies.

I find this to be the true oil of anise. I've used it for more than 50 years in baking.Be aware that since the base is oil, it may need to warm up and be well-shaken before use. Mine arrived and had become very cold during shipping. When I opened it, product had hardened in the upper part of the bottle (like the natural fat occuring in any chilled homemade chicken broth). That's just normal physics. Just let it warm up and shake well. If you are in a hurry, carefully poke the congealed product at the top with a toothpick to help break it up (mine was filled to the brim) and shake a few times. I don't recommend heating it because you may destabilize the product and change its flavor. It doesn't take long for it to loosen up. Hold it in your hands (your body heat will provide a source of very gentle heat) and shake a few times until fully melted. Kept at room temperature it remains in liquid state.Also, be aware that oil of anise is much more concentrated than anise extract - it's 4 times as strong. I am delighted to find it (hard/impossible locally - used to be available seasonally at pharmacies) and in this size. Will probably never have to purchase again!One request: please package in glass, not plastic. Shipping materials could also be reduced in size: this single item was shipped in a box the size of 3 large shoe boxes. Amazon, lease work at reducing plastics and shipping box sizes. This is star anise oil (not anise seed oil), which they explain in the description. Not quite as flavorful as I had hoped. You have to boost the proportions called for in a recipe, to compensate. While it comes in a plastic bottle, the bottle was not quite as full as expected (but sort of hard to tell if the full 8 fluid ounces is there, since it is not really a standard bottle). While it doesn't have a dropper, on the other hand, it does have a drop-cap so you can dispense small doses straight from the bottle.

It's hard to find a large bottle of quality Anise Oil like this one anywhere on the Internet and still get a decent price. I make a lot of biscottis and it's very annoying to have to purchase a lot of small bottles at a premium price and still end up disappointed at the quality.Thank you OliveNation for your wonderful product.

The taste is absolutely disgusting. I need anise oil to help with heartburn and this stuff tasted like soap! I gag every time I have to consume it. It is inedible.

My biscotti are more flavorful than ever. Sweet licorice notes are sublime.
