This one works for a 2006 (4th gen) Toyota 4runner
I had purchased a less expensive replacement remote control that was supposedly specified for the HYQ12BBX factory remote for my 2006 (4th gen) 4runner. I spent an hour trying to program it, getting nothing but the two cycles of the door locks each time, indicating it had failed to program. I was able to program the factory remote successfully each time, which indicated to me that the issue was with the remote itself. I returned that one and bought this one. This one programmed successfully on the first try. Can't say anything about the durability or longevity yet. I do think it was a little expensive for what it is, so therefore -1 star.

Excellent key fob.
Bought this to replace the Fob for an '03 Toyota 4Runner. Works great, but the instructions suck! Also, the website says its free, but it demands your credit card info. Forget the web instructions and just YouTube your vehicle to see how to get into programming mode. Remote itself works just as well as the factory ones it came with.

Great product that actually worked like it was supposed to!
This was the third manufacturer of OE compatible remotes that I had tried before I finally got one that paired and worked like it was supposed to! Great product, and worked on the first try. Very happy and would recommend!

Excellent Remote
I initially purchased a less expensive remote got my 2005 Toyota 4 Runner. That remote would not program as indicated by vehicle not accepting the remote.This remote worked for my vehicle with no trouble and even lowered the rear glass with no additional steps. Great remote.

Works great……BUT, their web page with programming instructions is a bit lacking. If it weren’t for YouTube I don’t think I could have managed to get it working. Entering the 4Runner programming mode involves key-in, key-out, door-open, door-close……I kept waiting for an instruction involving swinging a dead chicken above my head three times……

For a 2008 4Runner-Perfect product however I edited the programing instructions for success. Just copy & pasted the programing instructions & streamline the wording for my quick understanding! (Many quick steps & my "streamlined" version helped me thru the steps with better accuracy & more timely. Must be timely in your steps). Great product, value, & would certainly order again! A+

Works exactly as advertised
Took about 5 minutes to pair and haven’t had any issues with use for about 2 months straight now! At $10 for it you can’t really do much better!
