Dogs say YUM!
The food, boost, treats are all loved by my two picky Maltese! I've tried many kinds of kibble and they consistently turned up their noses. Spoiled as they are, I have truly tried everything, including meat mixed with things like Honest Kitchen and others - all quality products. They never have eaten their meals immediately when put down, but this stays fresh in the bowl when dry. My usual routine is to give them each half their days feed in the morning and half at night. They usually finish everything on their own time before the next meal. I serve the morning dry, which they seem to like, but they like it with water too, so I add that to the evening meal. If the morning feed is still there I just add to it and add water. Most times there is an empty bowl in the morning, and if not I discard and start new. My bruiser of a 3 year old Maltese is coming back to his correct weight, and even better his always sensitive GI system has settled down. No more rumbling, gas, diarrhea - he is normal usually - for the first time in his life! One thing I would say, especially if feeding dry, is to keep lots of fresh water available since at least in my dogs they tend toward hard stools occasionally for the first time on this food. This is a true quality product and I feel very good feeding it to my beloved dogs. Only downside is the cost and small bag packaging! I can't imagine feeding this to a large dog and it's taken awhile to estimate my monthly usage for delivery...and then it's a big hit on the budget. Still they are worth it!

My dog really loves this food, like really, really loves it.
Reference: I have a 1.5year old 70lb Boxer who is extremely picky about his food.Positives:1. My dog really loves this food, like really, really loves it.2. Healthy for my dog. I have done extensive research and understand how much better raw meat and bones are for my dog.3. Convenient, compact and easy to store. The food is compact and freeze dried. Freeze dry = no need to store frozen raw meat in freezer and than defrost in refrigerator. So you save room in freezer/fridge and save time not having to go through the entire process. You simply add warm water, stir and they eat!Negatives:1. Price! You knew that was coming, right? This is good quality food so it costs $$$ which is hard when you want the best for your dog but don't always have the finances to support that.2. Size. While it is nice that the bag is soo small for me it might be too small. I'm rapidly going through this bag - Please note that I have a 70lb boxer so of course I have to feed him much more than a 15-20lb dog.Overall LOVE this product, just wish I could get a bigger bag at a lower price! ha what world am I living in, right? But seriously you get what you pay for and this food is GOOD!

Great superfood but pricey
I can't tout amazing overnight results like some of the other reviews can, since I'm only using this as a supplement to my dogs' regular food, but I will say they all like it really well and snarf it right up. I'm considering switching my 14 year old terrier to this altogether, though--he seems less stiff and achey now that I'm feeding him half TruPet and half regular food for every meal. I'm still not very happy about the price, especially with needing to feed four dogs (thus the four stars instead of five). I can appreciate the benefits of this food and the process that goes into making it, but my brain can't seem to get around paying $25 or more for a 14 ounce bag of pet food. That being said, however, I'll be ordering more anyway because it seems to keep him happy and healthy. Good thing I kicked my Starbucks habit...

After searching for a quality organic dog food, I found Tru Dog!!
Based on other reviews I decided to try this out for my Maltipoo that I rescued from the humane society. With no medical history on her, she was very obese weighing in at 14.5 lbs. The vet suggested cooked foods to bring her weight down to an ideal 9 lbs. After much researching, I ran across Tru Dog Products. I also checked on Dog Food Advisor.com and here you can find just about every dog food imaginable, to see if they have ever had any recalls and the date. Some other foods were always recalled seemed like every two years! But not Tru Dog. They have never had any recalls. The beef is Wisconson grass fed beef with all the nutrients essential for a healthy dog. No need for any vitamins or supplements, it's all in there. I slowly transitioned her according to the package adding 25% to her home cooked food, and then increasing it every couple of days. To my relief, she tolerated it very well and within a week she was on her way to a healthy food regime. This is as close as you are going to get to feeding your baby a raw diet but not time-consuming. Since my baby is a senior (7 yrs) her teeth are not as strong. So I usually put 1/3 cup of Tru Dog in her bowl with a little water to cover the food and wrap it with aluminum foil and keep it in the fridge for next meal. By the time she is ready to eat it has" puffed up" and is easier for her to chew. Then I can add steamed veggies and diced apples, organic of course! This is suggested on the bag to help the bag last longer between shipments. I have found that giving 1/3 cup in the morning and again in the evening mixed in with her veggies and fruit she is completely satisfied. She isn't hungry until about 8-9 hours later. One 14oz bag lasts me 11 days given the portion sizes above and recommended on the package. With that said I purchased 3 bags for one month. I have also found this product on chewy.com for a little bit less and I purchase from there as well. This is an awesome product and I'm glad to say that only after being on Tru Dog dog food my Bela is now weighing in at 11lbs. Shiny coat, no itching her ears as before, no doggie breath, and I forgot to mention her poop! It has also changed for the better. She now poops small little balls with this food. They dry up quickly, and no smelly yard of dog poop. So many benefits to using this product. It may seem pricey to some doggy parents at first. I pay approximately 85.00 a month, but I am no longer also paying vet visits every month for check-ups to try and address her itching and allergy issues. They have all been cleared up by giving her what was supposed to eat by her ancestors in the wild. Grass fed meat, organs, bone and herring oil. Just check out the reviews from other pet parents. Hope that this was not too detailed but I had looked a long time for recommendations on a superior quality food that was close to a raw diet and this is the one.Your baby will love it as mine does. She dances around when she sees her bowl being served and licks the bowl clean.
