Primary Care Medicine (Primary Care Medicine Office Evaluation and Management of the Adult Patient)

This is about the fifth edition I have purchased. I think I had the very first edition. Was my go to book to read about patients who were sitting in the exam room as to how to manage their problem. Now use Up-To-Date more. Goroll is still a great text. I am sad to understand this will be the last edition of it.

This is really an outstanding book for the primary care physician. It’s like the Harrison‘s of primary care. The Wolters Kluwer website however is absolutely abysmal. In this case I am not even able to access the book, but other books I have purchased from Walters Kluwer tend to be difficult to navigate, and the text appears blurry on the screen. But again this particular book is 100% inaccessible so if you’re thinking of buying for the e-book forget it. Wolters Kluwer should really consider using Inkling which is a very functional platform. I usually go a few years after buying a book from Walters Kluwer because their website is so awful, and then when I forget how bad it was I buy another book from them, and then I always regret my purchase. Again this is not to knock the book itself. It’s excellent, but the website is just so awful it makes me never want to buy anything from Wolters Kluwer again. I hope they read this because they publish so many books that I like. However after this I don’t anticipate ever buying another book that they publish again unless they make some significant changes and advertise that they have done so. The book is a five star book, but the website is definitely at least minus 2 stars.

I really like how this textbook explains in detail depending on patient complaints! It was thorough just like the previous version but better! The only complaint I have about Thi newer version is the lack of color variations on topic labels or headings.

Great reference book. I like the format information with pathology. I have worked as a NP for 10 years new information.

The eBook code will not work on the new book a bought. Not worth the price if the eBook does not work.

Am finding typos and formatting errors after reading just a few chapters. Obviously doesn't mean the book is junk per se, but you wonder where else the sloppiness corresponds, like in the medical content itself. It's in the writing quality in general, too, with clunky phrases that make you stop and reread, like "Patient is symptomatic more than two times per week but less than once per day."Pictured (badly) is from the Asthma chapter, pg 478 with duplicate paragraphs.

Using this book for school where I need to use the index to look up information for projects. However, the index is out of order and its missing whole pages.

Very useful for nurse practitioners !
