I'm loving this tiny little rice cooker! I used to have a microwave cooker and it was pretty inconsistant when it cooked the rice; most of the time it would be undercooked and it always made a huge mess in the microwave. So I decided to try out this cheap, highly rated rice cooker and I'm so glad that I did. I usually only cook for two people, so I make about .5-1 cup of rice (uncooked). There is plenty of room to cook another cup or two, making this cooker ideal for feeding 1-4 people. It's small, so it takes up very little space on my counter, and the small size also makes it easier to clean. It takes about 15 minutes to make the perfect rice. I took the advice of other reviewers and used a bit more water than the instructions called for. This is definitely the way to go. The recommended water is not quite enough, but it is easy to figure out the correct amount (only took me two times to get it right, and even when it wasn't right, the rice was still decent). I also took the advice from people saying to turn it off when it is done cooking. I have not tried leaving it on yet, so I'm not sure if that would ruin the rice or not. Now my favorite part.... the steamer!!!! I love steamed vegatables, and now I can steam them at the same time that my rice cooks!! I was skeptical at first.... but I tried some carrots and broccoli in there the first time I used it, and they were steamed to perfection! What a great idea! It's less work, less dishes to clean, and it steams it perfectly.I would recommend this for anyone who wants a cheap but fantastic little rice cooker. Great for singles or small families. Cooking the rice is very quick and easy with minimal work, and cleaning the cooker is quite easy as well (no burnt stuff on the sides that would require scrubbing or soaking). And let's face it.... the price is hard to beat!UPDATE: I've been using this cooker for about a year now. I have seen no decrease in performance since I bought it. I use it about twice a week, and it is one of my favorite kitchen appliances. To elaborate on the first review I left.... yes, leaving it on the "warm" setting after the rice has finished cooking will dry it out a bit. Just unplug it once it has finished cooking, or just eat it right away. If you insist on keeping it on the "warm" setting, add 2-3 more oz of water at the start. I have also tried many veggies in the steamer, and they all turn out great! Carrots, beans, broccoli, peppers, peas, corn, cauliflour, the list goes on. And all of them turn out so well. I will use this thing until it breaks!

I'm loving my Aroma rice cooker! It's so easy to use and the results are perfect every time. Cleaning is a breeze, and the compact design fits perfectly on my countertop. The black finish looks sleek and modern. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and versatile rice cooker!

I bought this rice cooker on July 1, 2012 and have used it no less than once weekly, more like 2-3 times a week. Has worked exactly the same and exactly as well for 13 years. Water line markers in the pot are for cooking white rice you have to figure out how much more water is needed for brown but it cooks both great (but just do white rice it's better anyway)

This product is great for the price and function over all. The first time I made rice I accidently left it soaking in water over night. I strained the water out and added the correct cups of water and cooked the rice anyway (I figured it was my test run to see if I was operating the cooker right). The rice ended up coming out so perfect and just how I like it from the restaurant. The 2nd time I cooked rice I rinsed the rice a few times cooked it and it was an epic fail. It came out over done and over cooked (if that makes sense) mushy and hard at the same time. Anyway I attempted to steam vegs on top with rice and the rice failed but the vegs were a hit! The most recent use was to just stream vegs only and it was a whole bag of frozen vegs, I seasoned them and that came out really great. I ultimately decided that this would be known as the steamer as I can cook rice a lot better than the cooker. A plus about this product is that it is very easy to clean and the directions are really easy to read and follow. I would not recommend this as a gift, more like for personal use. If 2 cups or less of rice is good for you and your family then this is great. Anything more will be messy. The steamer does not hold as much as it looks like it does in the picture. Another thing...they're isn't an off switch, it automatically goes from cooking to a warm setting. In order to cut it off you have to unplug it...something about that bothers me, might not bother anybody else...I'm just weird about snatching plugs while something is on/running. Once you perfect the use of the cooker I'm sure it'll be useful especially for the set it and forget it aspect of it!

This rice cooker works very well. I'm leaving a review because I dropped the lid from 8' in the air while trying to read the bottom of the rice cooker and it shattered. I found out the hard way that it is made from safety glass, which is less likely to give you serious cuts than traditional non-laminated glass. It's certainly not the manufacturer's fault that it broke. I should be able to use it just fine with another pot lid that I have.

This is one of my favorite appliances in my apartment kitchen. Makes just enough to feed 6ish servings of rice and cooks it so well. The rice comes out on the dryer side and isn't gross or clumpy. The rice gets a slight browned bottom, but the nonstick coating completely prevents any sticking.The steamer tray is great for some broccoli or dumplings if you're interested in multitasking or using it by itself. I'd highly recommend this as it's an economical option for top tier rice cooking.

The media could not be loaded. Works perfect as expected. Cook time was about 10-15 min. I combined rice and quinoa in a 1:1 proportion and it came out with a perfect texture (each grain separated). There was some spillage which was expected because of the starch rice hold even though you wash it until the clear water. Perfect for 1 or 2 people.
