Giro Fixture MIPS Adult Mountain Cycling Helmet - Matte Trim Red (Limited), Universal Adult (54-61 cm)

Where do I start… I’ve been scavenging the entire marketplace in person and online and couldn’t find a helmet to fit me. I’m one of the few lucky people who doesn’t fit in to these “one size fits all” mold. I ordered this helmet because it said up to 65cm head (I’m a7 7/8 head size which is almost 62cm) I was skeptical at first saying it’ll be another failed attempt however as soon as I took it out of the box and saw how big it was I knew this was the one. I tried it on and it fit amazing, even some wiggle room if I need to loosen it up. If you’re a big headed person like myself, this helmet is going to make you really happy. Save yourself all the literal headaches trying on other helmets and having to return them, just get this one. This helmet is not only bigger than the rest, but has great air flow keeping you cool.

XL fits my XL noggin as needed, easy adjustment, had good luck with other Giro over the years and do not see anything that indicates quality is any less on this one. Other reviews note this, but I would point out again that the Matte Gray color is VERY light, almost white. The picture does not properly represent.

Loved this helmet in the bike store but Amazon beat the price. I was looking for a helmet with MIPS and this one worked great. The back knob helps secure the fit after placing it on your head. Now if I could figure out how to keep my hair from itching my neck I'd be golden.

This is the first helmet that has ever fit my husband since he was a young child. We ordered it basically just to say we had tried, and he was shocked to discover it actually fits! Not perched on top of his head or squeezing his head at all. He even tightened the dial a couple clicks! His head measures 64.5 cm and the top range of this was listed as 65. It was much lighter gray than pictured, but for $30 less than all the other options we aren’t going to be picky about that. Only reason for 4 stars is that the visor seems like it is slid back and should slide down closer to the brim of the helmet, but it is fixed that way and can’t be adjusted. Looks a bit weird and may be a little less effective, but for a helmet that is actually functional and comfortable for a giant head, not worth a return for us.

How good is this helmet? I recently dumped my bike. I hit the ground and took some road rash to my face. I wasn't even aware that I also hit my forehead--until I looked at the helmet.-that's how good this helmet was at absorbing the impact.

a) Arrived well packaged, complete and secure. in retail box. b) nice flat gray color . c) This is the first helmet I have ever had that fits my fat head comfortably ( and more!) . Most large adult helmets go to 61cm or so... I think this goes to 65... all I need is 63. Fits snugly and comfortably... wore it for a 45 mile cruise yesterday.... totally comfortable and no rings around my forehead from cramming it over my noggin!

Perfect fit for my big head. Comfortable and light. MIPS is a plus.
