The white glass-ceramic top plate (Pyroceram) provides fast heating and resistance to s and scratches. It has a stirring speed range of 60 to 1,150 rpm with ten dial settings, and it regulates the stirring speed for aqueous, viscous, or semi-solid solutions. Stirring control slowly increases speed for improved safety and enhanced coupling with the stir bar. The hot plate limits the maximum temperature to 550 degrees C. For safety, a hot top light indicates when the unit is over 60 degrees C, even when the power is off. It can hold a support rod (sold separately) for holding an external temperature controller (sold separately). This 120V stirring hot plate is used to heat glassware and heat and mix liquid solutions for scientific applications. It comes with a 3/8-inch stir bar and instructions.
