My favorite purchase this winter!
My own mother who had trouble coming to terms with aging used to snidely say that women who looked old were "just like Whistler's Mother." Well, at age 71, and living in Wisconsin, I have become that woman and I'm proud of it. I wrap myself in this wonderful throw every night this winter. It's amazing: warm, soft, and beautiful. I haven't been so happy with a purchase in a long time. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth it. I recommend it for anyone at any age! I'm a gerontologist so I don't mind talking about aging. I don't feel old when wrapped up in this throw -- just cozy and happy.

Elegant and Soft
What a wonderful blanket, it is the perfect upscale wool blanket for a gift or for yourself. Gave this recently for a gift to my mother and it was just perfect for the cold winter of northern michigan. Its a pretty penny to buy but the quality cant be beat. Worth it!

Best warm light blanket
Beautiful, warm, elegant and soft.I was looking for something thick and light to keep warm in the evening. This is perfect. It’s not too thick but it is warm and has the comfortable wool softness of merino and cashmere. I wish it came in even larger size. I bought it to compare with another thinner merino blanket and an alpaca one. The thinner one is not warm enough and the alpaca sheds too much. This is the best of all worlds.

I use it in Singapore. Has the right thickness. Warm and cozy, even my cats are addicted to this blanket. Really good quality. Considering buying a second one.

Very well made and equally comparable
I have purchased two John Hanly & Co lambswool blankets, one direct and one through Biddy Murphy (both purchases via Amazon). This blanket is 95% wool/5% cashmere, still soft to the touch, and not itchy in the least. There is a very, very slight difference in 'feel' between this and the 100% wool versions, but neither are no less warm or comfortable. The blanket is very well made and equally comparable equivalent to wool blankets from boutique shops like Hermès.
