036TSSQ Steel Plate Umbrella Base, 36 lb, Black

This is very strong and well made. The price is competitive. It looks good too very low profile. It is held together with a large 3/4” bolt. I read many reviews of other brands where the attachment tube broke off of the base due to a small bolt. That won’t be the case with this one.

I was concerned that a base of this weight might not be heavy enough to anchor a moderately sized umbrella, but this one is more than sufficient. The only modification I made, based on another reviewer’s suggestion, was to wrap the lower end of the umbrella pole in two places with enough layers of duct tape (any other spacer material would have worked) to keep it snug in the base pipe. This of course required sliding the plastic ring out of the base pipe up the umbrella pole first, then sliding the ring back into the base after putting on the tape. The effect is to keep the umbrella solidly vertical, eliminating an otherwise unavoidable tilt that would shift the center of gravity to one side and thereby promote tipping. With this fix, the umbrella stays put in all the breezes we have thrown at it. I added a coat of black enamel to avoid the risk of rust.This stand is far less obtrusive and more presentable than the huge square water-filled base that I had before and returned, and it does the job equally well. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded. Great umbrella base that is sturdy and sleek design! I wanted modern and sleek and this one fits the bill. It’s heavy weight to ensure your umbrella does not fall over. No issues with rusting so far which I’m happy about too.

I needed a very strong umbrella stand because I have a triple umbrella. It’s very heavy and probably could hold the umbrella by itself, but I added heavy stones to the base just to make sure. The fact that the base is flat made it so much easier to reinforce it. Perfect for a heavy umbrella!

Just got base this week- a couple of things to consider doing on assembly. If your umbrella pole is little too loose after sliding it into “tube” -apply Gorilla tape or Flex tape around umbrella pole to make it a better fit- I had read this in another comment- it works well . Also push the 1/2” bolt through bottom of base plate FIRST- then while holding the Bolt tightly screw the TUBE onto the BOLT for a tight fit to base . I hope this base lasts longer than the round “Backyard” Creation brand did ( less than 2 months) before it broke • completely • in half !!!

I bought this for our outdoor patio umbrella. The umbrella is a 9 ft wide, and this thing holds it well without any tipping, or falling. I like how it is flat, and covers more area than your traditional ones. I would recommend to others.

I bought this umbrella holder to support my new umbrella from CB2. I was really skeptical about buying something here on amazon in this category as I was looking for a quality product. Surprisingly, that is exactly what this umbrella base is! Overall, it looks really sleek and modern. The quality is great. It is a bit heavy but that is what I wanted as I did not want my umbrella tipping over or flying away. This item checked all the boxes I was looking for. I really like the black finish and the fact that it I still is nice for me.

(4) stands were purchased and they are great quality and heavy enough to keep the 11’ umbrellas in place. I did have two screws added to the base of the umbrella as it’s super windy where I am and I did not want an uplift wind to cause the umbrella to go flying. Products arrived on time and were well packaged. Will purchase again.
