Essential Upgrade for RV Stability

The Lippert Solid Stance RV Step Stabilizer Kit is a must-have for anyone with a 5th wheel, travel trailer, or motorhome. Installation was easy, and it significantly reduced the wobbling of our RV steps. The sturdy construction ensures extra safety, and the stabilizers are adjustable to fit various step sizes. Now, I feel much more confident stepping in and out of the RV without worrying about instability. This kit has definitely enhanced the overall feel of our RV setup. Highly recommend it for better stability and peace of mind!

Works great

If you have the old school fold out RV steps, this product works great to provide a more stable platform for entering and exiting the RV. I didn't have an issue with my fold out steps before installing this product, but I really noticed a difference in stability afterwards. If you have Lippert steps, this is very easy to install as the mounting holes are already drilled out underneath the rubber gasket on the bottom step. The stabilizer is also very easy to deploy and very adjustable to various terrain conditions.

Fantastic!

Not having a sturdy step very well may have been a deal breaker on the camper we got, but my dealer showed me one of these installed by the factory on a different model. That one was welded, and I had assumed that I would be welding this one on too since I didn't want screws protruding from the top of the step and cause a tripping situation. Happily, when I got my '24 Grand Design, the steps were designed to use this product and there was no drilling required, and the screws are hidden behind a rubber trim pieces which eliminates the tripping possibility. Other than having to get the rubber gasket shoved back into place, it was super easy. The only downside is that it cannot be folded away with the supports locked into place. I have to unlock the supports, tip the bottom step up so that it clears the step above, and then relock the supports in order to secure it. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. But, once these are installed and deployed, it essentially turns your floating steps into secure steps and they're super sturdy!

Easy to install and step much more stable

We replaced our steps on the RV with Lippert steps so decided to try the stabilizer since I always hated the bounce in the steps that shakes the whole rig. Easy to install as the steps already had the proper drilled holes since they were Lippert steps and it was jut 4 nuts and bolts to install. The only issue we had is that we use stair rugs and we have to undo two of the springs on the rug to open or close the stabilizer but then we just stretch the springs around the stabilizer once deployed to keep the rug stable. Looks a little funky on the front of the step rug as the flap has to hang down a bit but works and everything stays in place (will have to try to add a pic later). Makes the step feel very solid and very easy to deploy. Still movement a little in the upper step as this only stabilizes the bottom step but overall way less movement than before. I suppose stacks of boards would work too but this is fully adjustable and I got this at a great price.

No more bounce

Had to drill 4 holes in step. Took less than 15 minutes to install. Before flex in step was terrible. Now rock solid. I will just need to make sure it is up since when I start motor home step auto retracts

The bounce is gone, stairs are solid.

Once installed, the product works as advertised. The stairs do not bounce when you step on them, the bottom step is firmly supported by the ground. Once installed, it is very easy to level the stabilizers and support the stairs. While not too complicated, installation took a little longer than it should have. Instructions are for square Lippert stairs. There is mention of what to do for rounded Lippert stairs, which are the ones I have, but no pictures in the instructions or specific instructions on Youtube that I could find. I eventually figured it out without drilling holes in the wrong place or grinding off the handle that seemed to be in the way based on the instructions for the square stairs. (The solution is to drill holes in the middle of the round stairs, not the front.)I have always had the feeling that at some point the unsupported RV stairs would fail from all the bouncing they go through while in use. I now feel, the stair stabilizer will extend the life of the stairs due to less stress on the stair components. So overall, I am very happy with the product.

really stabilizes those aluminum ones that don't hit the ground

I had the old school heavy metal three step on my old trailer. They are indestructible and stable, but heavy for sure. The new trailer had the new three step fold down aluminum ones. They are well made but flexible, lets say as you step down on that last step and it looked like another couple of years I might need to think about new ones. AND, I don't like those ones that fold up into the trailer...So, saw these and got them. You carefully measure your bottom step drill the holes and put it one. It is really heavy duty made, not light fragile looking parts. It has a range of adjustments including if one side or the other is higher or lower an once you have done it a couple times its pretty easy to set up simply by folding up your bottom step, it sits there right in front of you and pull the arms out sticking the pins in and adjusting the feet in or out as a further adjustment. I get it right generally on first time now. Occasionally have to move something in or out as a second adjustment. On an overnight, I don't bother...It is nice getting a solid feel as you step down instead of the bottom step sort of flexing and feeling like it is bending even if it isn't. I put install as a four. I have the tools and background to do this. It might be a 2 or 3 star if you aren't "handy" and you could drill a hole in the wrong place if you don't get it right. So measure twice, drill once... Check your assumptions at the door before starting. Always good advice. Remember up toward the front as a general rule and the front while down, not with the step flipped up. A second pair of hands could come in...handy...at one point in the install.
