Damn this drill is powerful!
I'm a big fan of Makita and this is why. I drilled in 10" timberlok screws through pressure treated railroad ties in seconds with zero effort. This drill is compact but heavy. It will do just about any job you throw at it. Don't bother going up to the 40v stuff; not needed. The ergonomics are significantly better than DeWalt, which I've tried too.

This brushless drill has over twice the torque of my old BHP452.
I like that it is short for better fitting in stud bays. I also like that there is no air intake on the butt end. When pushing on the back of the old drill during tough drilling I felt like I was cutting off half of its airflow. Tested this one out drilling 16" deep holes through railroad ties, it did the job and didn't get hot.
