This item arrived in 8 days, which was much earlier than we expected and it worked perfectly. The installation is extremely easy and only requires both a normal sized Phillips (hex) and flat screwdriver. After watching the video, the installation took me less than four minutes--I have no experience working on cars, but am comfortable with a screwdriver. Amazon surely makes a small profit off of this sale, but this is yet another example of how Amazon creates value for us, internet users with general common sense, and allows us to save tons of money and time. In particular, I called a dealer here in Texas and they told me it was an "inexpensive" problem that they could fix--it would be about $100 for the part and $61 for the labor. Although it took slightly longer to get the product shipped to me, in the time it took me to lookup the item, watch the how to video, buy the item and install it and write this review, I would have only been halfway to the dealership and then would have had to wait in line, fill out forms, and then wait for them to charge me a ton for a process that would likely take their technician fewer than 60 seconds.I fully understand that a dealership needs to make a profit, but an industry like dealership "service" that does not bat an eye at an over 2000% markup (about $160 at the dealership compared to about $7 from Amazon) on the most menial task is one that should be disrupted and I applaud Amazon for its ability to add value to its customers (i.e., saving us considerable time and money).Thank you, Amazon.(This was written by my husband.)Disclaimer: Although my position is rather small, I am long Amazon.

I got this product seemingly overnight from the time of purchased. Seller quickly processed & shipped my order with accuracy. The product was a perfect fit and very quick to install. That back, passenger window to my '99 VW Jetta, that I was not able to get to go down for over 12 years, was suddenly working smoothly again. I should have done it sooner. This whole positive experience was like an 'easy button' solution to a long-standing problem.

Perfect fit to my Jetta very easy to install. It is an exact replacement of OME. Would buy again from this brand. Dealer ship what $78 for the exact same thing.

The button that controls the front passenger-side window was loose & and a pain to operate consistently on a 2001 VW Golf GLS 1.8T that I had just bought. The VW specialty repair shop quoted me $162 for parts and labor to do the replacement. I took a chance with this $9 part & my own labor (after watching a couple how-to videos on YouTube). It's only been a day since the swap, but it works fine. The door lock/unlock button isn't as responsive as the OEM version was, which is why I'm giving it only 4 stars. Fit was fine. Control plug was fine. Only took a handful of minutes to install. It's cheaper quality than OEM for sure, but definitely still a great value for under $9.Edit 07/10/2017 - Saw a question about the illumination color. This unit illuminates red. Posted a photo as example.

From may 8,2024 to Aug 1,2024...that's all it lasted... don't drive the car much. Now the passenger bottom won't lower the window or raise it. Single switch on the passenger side still works. Didn't expected the switch to last a couple of months. Bad quality.

Was a bit leery to purchase a piece this cheap especially with some of the negative remarks. However after reading through many reviews, good and bad, I decided to go ahead an take a chance and am very glad I did so. Fits like a charm! No issues whatsoever as some had stated with having to shave edges down or auto up/down function not working. Piece popped right in work just like the original right off! I have an 04 VW Jetta GL

We have a 2002 Passat Wagon and the driver's side window control switch is the most recent piece of plastic on this car to break. I looked at buying a 'used' switch assembly through eBay, but the plastic for these old switches is also suspect. In looking for recommendation for what to buy, I checked the PassatWorld website. A moderator there said that he bought a replacement assemble through Amazon and was happy with the replacement. Now the question as to which Amazon offering to buy.... I went with the one with the most reviews that looked legitimate. This also turned out to be sold by Amazon which provided the most security from a sourcing and quality perspective. This unit fits perfectly, has a pretty good feel to it even though it is not OEM, and was less than $10. We'll see how it holds up overtime, but for now I'm very satisfied. (PS: I broke off some of the plastic anchors for the shroud that this attaches to when removing per the videos. It did not pop off as cleanly as the videos show. Again, old VW plastic.)
