Q: I have smead letter size file folders which measure closer to 9" x12". I am confused if I actually need 81/2 X11 file folders? will smead ones work ?

Hello B. Ringwalt,I have a Smead letter size folder UPC # 64066 and it fits perfect! The Actual "folder" size is 11-3/4" x 9-1/4" U.S. Acrylic, LLC

To add to what others have said -- Maybe! mine fits, but it's a little tight with 19 hanging file folders and 31 regular folders. My tickler system: the regular file folders are used for days 1-31 -- I cut them out of 31 regular 1/5 tab folders, 1-7 from the first tabs, 29-31 from the last tabs. 12 hanging file folders are for the months, and the other 7 hanging folders are for grouping the tab folders by week so I can tell when the week ends and begins, and which day of the week I'm reaching for. An out-of-the-box tickler file system, or one with more stuff in it for a busier person, may push the limits of what this hanging file organizer can comfortably hold. I use a banker's box instead for my tickler file system and I use this bucket for carrying small projects around.

To comment on the answer that said they shouldn't include photos using it in a refrigerator, that is actually shelving in a pantry. They don't suggest using it in a refrigerator, but specifically mention using it in a pantry.

There are NO holes in the bottom of this file holder. This is a one piece holder (no seams).
