What can you say. Makita makes high quality tools. What is especially notable about these is the compact design. They a much smaller than my other Makita models with no noticeable difference in driving performance. Also they are brushless which is always a plus. Highly recommend.

I absolutely adored this set and bought one from the local big box following return.Unfortunately, this item was shipped to me used and the chuck on the drill was stuck/broken. It made a horrible cracking noise whenever loosening or tightening the chuck. Kind of the same noise it makes a couple times as the chuck is fully tightened.My last Sub-Compact set was basically the version of this from 15 years ago and was flawless until I killed it mixing thinset when no other drill was available. This new set is lighter and much more powerful, responsive, and even speedier. I have several drills from dewalt and makita that I have put through there paces as much as a real home DIY'er can. The subcompacts are my favorite to hook to my belt and climb a few stories or throw in the back of my truck as I goto help a friend. I really can't recommend enough for a secondary drill or for a light home DIY'er. Just don't overload them doing something stupid like mixing grout/thinset, or driving XL lag bolts.

I decided to buy a smaller impact and drill set in comparison to another Makita set i have because i wanted one for lighter work. Little did i know, id be buying such a horrible set! I shouldve just bought the impact separately in this case…the impact is wonderful and does the job! I have no complaints about the impact. Its light and strong! Dont expect strong for big construction jobs! This is where a bigger and more expensive set comes into play! On the other hand, the drill is complete trash! The gears get stuck with anything you do! Even if youre changing the drill bit! Dont even try drilling anything because it wont budge! It just gets stuck and grinds inside! Dont get me wrong, the design and weight of it is amazing! But performance wise…well, there isnt any! I had high hopes for Makita on this set…ive been used to Makita all my life especially with 15 years in construction! Makita has never let me down until now…really wish there could be something done about this drill!
