Canon imageCLASS MF3010 VP - Wired Monochrome Multifunction Laser Printer with Scanner, Copier, USB Cable Included, Up To 2,300 Page Toner Yield in Box, 19 PPM, Black

This is my initial early revie, and I may later add to it or alter it. Above: The printer atop our rolltop desk.Our PC is Windows 11. We were searching for a multifnction laser printer, at first one that was also wireless. Ink jet was a nonstarter because ink is so costly and because if one does not use the printer a lot, the ik tends to dry out and then the printer won't work. We were very pleaantly surprised to see that this printer inclused a second toner cartridge, A $30+ bonus for free in the box!We wanted wireless because it is nice to be able to place the printer pretty much wherever we wanted to. But wireless would have added a lot to the cost. This printer connects via USB, and as a single computer household, we had no need for a sharable networked printer. But having to place it near our computer ade the printer 's form factor important to us. Fortunately, this printer has a small form factor; even smaller if we keep paper in the desk and keep the paper tray and output shelf closed unless we're using the printer.This printer replaces a Dell wireless laser multifunction printer that had a feeder, which the new Canon printer lacks, but we very, very seldom need to scan more than one page at a time. The Dell printer was one-side print/scan. The Dell printer would only work on slow wireless, and when we went to a 5G T-Moble gateway we had to connect the printer to the gateway using an ethernet cable. Then that stopped working and we had to connect it directly to the PC using a USB cable. Then the Dell printer bit the dust entirely, and tech support and/or repair became too costly or imposssible.Both the old and new printers also handle FAX, but we don't care about that; we never use it. Doctors' offices tend to use FAX, but will give out an e-mail address if pressed, or we can use snail mail if we must.Setup of the Canon printer was not too difficult. The pictures were a bit hard to follow, but common sense led me through. The instructions for downloading the Canon software could not account for changes in the browsers, etc., but again, common sense prevailed. Microsoft then subsumes everything and gives you its own print and scan apps. But Canon presents a special print/scan app library that we'll have to try. But a half hour after the printer arrived in a box to printing a test page and test scanning took about a half hour.I actually found this model first on the Dell web site but dealing with Dell was a nightmare. Its web site twice rejected our perfectly good credit card, and we could not reach a human being who could help. Then I found the same printer on Amazon, not only $1 cheaper, but also with 5% back on our Anazon card and shipping that got it to us in 2 days instead of a week.The next day I used the Canon device to scan a document that I needed to attach to an e-mail. It worked perfectly. I particularly liked the Canon app filing options.

After buying three printers, this is finally the one that does not have 5 million steps to connect over wifi. WINNER! How novel, I just have to plug it into my laptop??? Yay, took one minute to set up, and easy to download the driver on their website. Aaaand this printer is a workhorse. It prints at ludicrous speed!Warning, if you like printing over wifi and troubleshooting endless issues, don’t buy.Caution, only prints in black and white. This is for serious people only. All you color addicted people step aside.

For just over $100 this gives you a nice little, no frills, laser printer. If you’re looking for a printer for a small business or home office, and don’t expect to printing photos or graphics, it would be hard to find a better option than this one.

Excellent printer. Follow instructions, remove orange packing tape, orange plastic from toner, remove Styleraphane, turn on, press copy. Install drive, connect printer to computer, printed test page. No jam, no issues to troubleshoot. Thank you for excellent USB only laser printer / copier! Great choice for people who do not need or want wireless bluetooth radiation. Great value less then $200 for NEW laser B/W copier / printer. Highly recommended. Plus came with two toner cartridges.

This printer purchase was a waste of my time and money several times over.I have three inkjet printers in my office but needed a monochrome laser printer on a rush to print waterproof labels in black ink. I spent hours on Amazon reading reviews about laser printer and thought I would stick with the Canon brand because all of my inkjet printers and cameras are Canon. Although I have used laser printers off and on over the years, they were always HP, but I thought, "How could I go wrong with a Canon laser printer?" Unfortunately, there was misrepresentation about the quality of this project, meaning the "print quality", as well as what was included in the box.I am 5'4" tall (female) and tore the ACL in one of my knees during a skiing accident. I not only have difficulty walking down even one step while it is still healing (which might be never), but carrying anything heavy is out of the question due to the strain on my knee.Despite being an Amazon Prime member and typically having "breezy" returns, now I need to waste more time packing up the printer, finding someone to carry it to my car, driving to a UPS store, asking someone at UPS to bring the box into the store, and waiting for it to be received by the seller on the East Coast before I can get a refund (I am located on the West Coast). It doesn't seem fair that I need to wait for a refund on a defective product and items missing that were represented to be IN THE BOX, whereas, Amazon typically issues immediate refunds.1) The PRODUCT TITLE says, "Canon imageCLASS MF3010 VP Wired Monochrome Laser Printer with Scanner, USB Cable included, Black". Only a power cord was included and NO USB cable. Either I was shipped a used item that was re-packaged and not quality checked, or whoever packed the equipment on the manufacturer's end didn't check to ensure all parts were included.2) Due to the USB cable being missing, I needed to drive around town looking for a printer cable, and they are not sold "just anywhere". Best Buy and Office Depot are at least a 20-minute drive in one direction (Walmart is even farther, and CVS and Walgreens do not carry printer cables). Therefore, between driving time and money spent on gas, looking for a parking spot on a rainy day in a busy parking lot, waiting time at the store behind other customers, and driving back, I easily wasted an hour and a half. I needed to get my labels printed, so I wasn't able to have one delivered by Amazon.2) The "WHAT'S IN THE BOX" statement says: "MF3010 VP Product, Cartridge 125 Black 2,300 Page Yield (starter toner in printer = 700 pages, additional toner in box = 1,600 pages), Power Cord, USB Cable, User Software CD, Getting Started Guide, Warranty Card". Not only did I not receive a USB cable, but there was only one small "starter toner" and no "additional toner" in the box.3) PRINT QUALITY: This was maddening! I do technical consulting and had no difficulty whatsoever setting up the printer, but the first test page came out with black streaks. At first I thought, "Okay; that is a test page; it should look like that". Then I tested two different types of documents, and they, too, came out with black streaks.This was a bad experience all around. I would not risk purchasing from this seller again due to the missing items, nor would I ever again buy a Canon imageCLASS printer.
