I have an 18 year old GE Proflie countertop stove. My 8 inch coil would go full open to high on medium heat. I changed out an infinite control for the same reason in 2018. So I searched for the correct part wb23m1 this time and it’s no longer in production. I scoured the internet all sold out. I saw a video that most of these GE infinite controls are similar on the interior of the mechanism. The only difference is usually the shaft that holds the knob and/or the silver plate holding on to the white plastic mechanism. I was stuck, I would have to buy a new stove top because of one simple part. I said no, so ended up purchasing this item which would not have worked only due to the shaft and steel plate. I took off old control, pried off silver plate with shaft, then took off new control shaft and plate. I put the old shaft and plate on the new white plastic container holding the mechanism. Reinstalled and works like a charm. So if you are in a pinch and the part is no longer available. Try this. I included two pictures of the old white container box where the bad contacts were and the new shaft with plate I took off this new item.

Perfect fit works perfectly. This is OE part don’t buy the nock offs.

Great switch and works great on my stove

Replaced switch for most frequently used burner on 16 year old stove. It was a quick and simple install. Problem solved!
