This gives my dog tons of energy, a silky coat, and a healthy weight! When I adopted her, I put her on Hill's right away and it made her coat absolutely gorgeous! You'll notice that they also eat less of it because it's more nutrient-dense (meaning they get what they actually need- it's the good stuff!)

We started with another brand that had a sterling reputation. About 8 months into it, our picky eater wouldn't eat it anymore, so we started researching and doing "try me" bites of different kinds. We eventually landed on Hills' Science Diet (Chicken/Barley) as some of the other foods created diarrhea. He has been eating this for almost a year. It's not cheap dog food, but I feel like it's good for him and he loves it. We provide it to him dry, but also give him an extra dish with some of the canned Hills Science diet "wet" food. He actually likes the dry food better, as he always eats that first. I am also a huge advocate for any company that financially supports programs for adopting animals from a shelter.All of our dogs and cats have come from shelters and it always amazes me how much love these abandoned and sometimes mistreated animals have to give. They deserve a top quality food for meal time.

I have had numerous pups over the last 20 years and always fed them Blue Buffalo. After reading the recent reports about the side effects of BB I decided to give Science Diet a try. First of all there was no mixing of the two brands to get get used to the new brand. They are it up immediately. It is a bit more expensive but Amazon does have sales from time to time. To me it is worth it. Another thing I absolutely love is the velcro closure on even the 35 pound bags.
